Cheese Cake

A rustic nonetheless elegant homemade baked cheesecake it's the best ever. The subtle oils from the zesty oranges add vigor to the fluffy cream cheese filling and the sour cream just gives it a welcoming tang. Eaten in unison the crumbly buttery base will melt on your tongue, Adding to the sweet and dense luxurious indulgence that a baked cheesecake is all about. Note: you can decorate your cheesecake with your favorites toppings as you desire.

  • 9 tbsp Melted butter
  • 1 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp White sugar
  • Cheese Filling
  • 4 oz. Cream cheese (Room temperature)
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 3 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Sour cream
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 1 medium Orange zest
  • tsp Salt
  • Garnish
  • Berries
  • Mint

Preheat oven to 325°F/160°C.

We will start by creating our crust. A robot coupe will ground up our graham cracker. In a mixing bowl, we will add our white and brown sugar. Melt our butter, and add to our mixture and mix well.

In a 9" circular pan we are going to take our mixture and spread it on the bottom and sides(press firmly) to create our crust bottom for our cheese filling.

In a mixer add our cream cheese and whip it till cheese is fluffy 3-5 minutes. Now we can add our white sugar, vanilla extract, orange zest, sour cream and salt until it's mixed well and smooth. Lower the speed on the mixer and add our eggs(one at a time) and mix till fully incorporated.

Pour our cheese mixture into our already prepared crust. Place in center rack in oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes. It should have a golden crust in the middle and a slightly jiggly when we take it out.

Let the cheesecake sit for 10 min. Take a knife and run the blade on the outside of the crust to separate it from sticking to the pan. Let the cheesecake sit for 1 hour until it cools down. After that, we can transfer it to the refrigerator for 5 hours or overnight.

You can decorate with fresh berries and mint.
