Beautiful golden crust with a hint of seaweed flavor, this Crispy Seaweed Fish Fillet is easy to make and crispy on the outside, flaky and tender on the inside. It is pure heaven in your mouth!

Ingredients:
  • 5 oz. Red Grouper Fish
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 0.3 cup Dried Green Seaweed Crumbs
  • 2 tbsp. Starch
  • 1 tbsp. Baking Soda
  • 0.5 tsp. Instant Yeast
  • 1.5 cup Water
  • 3 tbsp. Cooking Oil
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tbsp. Cooking Wine

Fillet the red grouper: cut into 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) thick slices.

Marinate with salt and cooking wine in a bowl.

Prepare the batter: in a mixing bowl, combine flour, starch, baking soda, baking powder, instant yeast, dried green seaweed crumbs, water, and cooking oil. Mix well.

Dip fish fillets into the batter.

Drop one at a time into low-temperature oil until fillets are cooked.

Take fish fillets out, and drain the oil. Re-fry quickly at high temperatures. This will make the fillets crispier and less oily.
