NY Strip with Mushroom Sauce

Simply, it is fine dining accomplished easily at home. Starting with an excellent selection of beef and finishing with a decadent cream sauce made with beef bone broth and three different mushroom types.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 lb NY Strip Steak
  • ¼ tsp Coarse Salt
  • 1 pinch Ground Black Pepper
  • 5 oz Brown Cremini Mushrooms
  • 3 oz Oyster Mushrooms
  • 4 oz Shiitake Mushrooms
  • 1 medium Shallot
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 1.2 oz Parsley
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 2 tbsp Thyme
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 cup Beef Bone Broth
  • ¼ tsp Coarse Salt
  • 1 Pinch Ground Black Pepper

Add ¼ tsp of sea salt and a pinch of black pepper to each side of the steak.

Preheat a cast-iron skillet over medium heat, then sear steak, add 1 tablespoon butter, thyme, and garlic cloves.

When the steak is done for your taste, remove from the pan, and set aside for 6 minutes.

While the meat is cooking, slice the cremini mushrooms, pull apart the oyster mushrooms, and slice the shitake.

Peel off the top skin of shallots, then minced. Minced garlic and parsley.

In a medium pan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter, then add shallots, garlic, and mushrooms.

Sauté slightly, then add heavy cream, cook over medium heat for 7-10 minutes with pan covered.

Then add beef bone broth and continue to simmer until thick, about 10 minutes. Add ¼ teaspoon of salt and pinch of black pepper and parsley, and stir.

To serve, pour the sauce over the steak.
