Spicy Beef Pancake Rolls
TIME: 40 min
SERVING: 4 People
- 3 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 2 tsp Instant Yeast
- 1.3 cup Water (For Dough)
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 0.5 cup Scallions
- 1 tbsp Ginger
- 0.5 cup Parsley
- 2 tbsp Water (For Filling)
- 2 tbsp Cooking Oil
- 1.5 tsp Salt
- 0.5 tsp Black Pepper
- 1 tsp Cayenne Pepper
- 1 tsp Paprika Powder
- 0.5 tsp Curry Powder
- 0.5 tsp Five-Spice Powder
On a clean surface, combine the instant yeast with flour and mix with your hands. Add water and blend into a dough. Form into a ball, place the dough in a bowl, and cover to let it rest for 10 minutes.
Chop parsley, scallions and ginger into small pieces and place in a mixing bowl.
Add ground beef to the bowl along with some salt, cayenne pepper, five-spice powder, paprika powder, curry powder and black pepper, and stir ingredients with a fork. Add 2 tablespoons of water, followed by cooking oil, and stir well again with a fork.
Remove dough from the bowl and knead on a clean surface, until smooth. Form dough into a log, sprinkle with flour, and roll log back and forth in flour to coat well.
Pinch dough into three pieces, then flatten with hands, and roll each piece out with a rolling pin to form an oblong shape.
Spread a layer of beef filling over the top of a piece of dough, leaving a 1-inch space around the edges. Gently fold the dough over onto itself, in one-third sections at a time.
Finally, gently pull the edge of the dough over top of itself, and pat together gently. Press ends of dough together and slice off tips to form a straight edge. Repeat the same steps for the remainder of the dough.
Add some cooking oil to a pan, and place pancakes in the pan. Cover with a lid and cook for 5 minutes, until the bottom is golden-brown.
Flip the pancakes over, cover with the lid again, and cook for another 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and cut into 2-inch slices. Serve and enjoy.
