Ingredients:
  • 3 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 tsp. Instant Yeast
  • 1.3 cup Water (For Dough)
  • 1 lb. Ground Beef
  • 0.5 cup Scallions
  • 1 tbsp. Ginger
  • 0.5 cup Parsley
  • 2 tbsp. Water (For Filling)
  • 2 tbsp. Cooking Oil
  • 1.5 tsp. Salt
  • 0.5 tsp. Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp. Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 tsp. Paprika Powder
  • 0.5 tsp. Curry Powder
  • 0.5 tsp. Five-Spice Powder

On a clean surface, combine the instant yeast with flour and mix with your hands. Add water and blend into a dough. Form into a ball, place the dough in a bowl, and cover to let it rest for 10 minutes.

Chop parsley, scallions and ginger into small pieces and place in a mixing bowl.

Add ground beef to the bowl along with some salt, cayenne pepper, five-spice powder, paprika powder, curry powder and black pepper, and stir ingredients with a fork. Add 2 tablespoons of water, followed by cooking oil, and stir well again with a fork.

Remove dough from the bowl and knead on a clean surface, until smooth. Form dough into a log, sprinkle with flour, and roll log back and forth in flour to coat well.

Pinch dough into three pieces, then flatten with hands, and roll each piece out with a rolling pin to form an oblong shape.

Spread a layer of beef filling over the top of a piece of dough, leaving a 1-inch space around the edges. Gently fold the dough over onto itself, in one-third sections at a time.

Finally, gently pull the edge of the dough over top of itself, and pat together gently. Press ends of dough together and slice off tips to form a straight edge. Repeat the same steps for the remainder of the dough.

Add some cooking oil to a pan, and place pancakes in the pan. Cover with a lid and cook for 5 minutes, until the bottom is golden-brown.

Flip the pancakes over, cover with the lid again, and cook for another 5 minutes.

Remove from heat and cut into 2-inch slices. Serve and enjoy.
