Chef John’s Cooking Class | Steamed Egg

This Chinese Steamed Egg recipe is incredibly easy to follow and does not require a lot of ingredients. It has a light, aromatic taste that is simply delicious.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 3 large Egg
  • 1 tsp Shaoxing wine
  • 1 cup Warm water
  • 1 tsp Light soy sauce
  • Green onion, chopped

Use a whisk to make an egg wash in a large bowl, then pour in the Shaoxing cooking wine and warm water and stir evenly. Sieve out the foam in the egg wash.

Cover the bowl with a lid and put it in a boiling water steamer over a medium-low heat for 10 to 12 minutes.

Add in some light soy sauce and sprinkle some chopped scallion over before serving.
