To many Chinese households, pork belly is a staple for Chinese holidays. With its high meat-to-fat ratio, it is both flavorful and nutritious. However, pork belly can be a little rich by itself, so with cooked cabbage and carrots there is a good balance of sweet pork meat and refreshing vegetables. This stir fry recipe will show you how to make this Chinese delicacy at home.

Ingredients:
  • 9 oz. Pork Belly
  • Marinade
  • 1 tbsp. Shaoxing Cooking Wine
  • 1 tbsp. Soy Sauce
  • 0.25 tsp. Black Pepper
  • Stir Fry Pork Belly Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp. Cooking Oil
  • 5 Garlic cloves, Sliced
  • 1 Red Onion, Sliced
  • Half Carrot, sliced
  • Half Green Bell Pepper, julienned
  • Half Red Bell Pepper, julienned
  • 7 oz. Cabbage, sliced
  • 1 tbsp. Oyster Sauce
  • 0.25 tsp. Black Pepper

Chop the cabbage into chunks and slice the carrots. Optional: Slice the carrots into flower shapes to make the dish more visually appealing. Cut the garlic into thin slices. Julienne the onion, green bell peppers and red bell peppers.

Cut the pork belly into thin slices (The thinner the slice, the bolder the flavor is going to get when marinating.) Add cooking wine, soy sauce, black pepper in a bowl with the pork slices. Knead the meat a little so that the marinade is evenly distributed. Let the meat marinate for 30 minutes.

Heat the fry pan add cooking oil, pork belly, and stir until the pork belly is golden brown.

Add garlic and onions. Stir again, Put in the carrots, bell peppers, cabagge, oyster sauce, black pepper, and sautee them quickly. Plate and enjoy.
