 The perfect fall treat of battered fried apple slices dipped in melted sugar. These easy fried apple slices can also be served savory with a sprinkle of salt or sweet with just a dusting of powdered sugar.

Ingredients:
  • 1 lb. Large apples
  • 2 tbsp. Potato starch [Coating]
  • 3 count Large egg white [Batter]
  • 2 cup Flour [Batter]
  • 1 tbsp. Corn starch
  • 1 cup Sugar

Slice your apples into about 1/2 inch thick pieces.

Coat the apple slices with 2 tbsp potato starch.

In a medium-sized bowl, mix together your flour and egg white. Whist until the size of batter gets doubled.

Dip your apple slices into your batter and allow excess batter to drip off.

Put a few slices at a time into the preheated oil and allow to cook for a couple minutes, flipping after the bottom half is a golden brown color. Then cook on bottom side till browned too. Drain and set aside.

Bring up the oil temp in the pot, re-fry apples for 30 seconds to make it extra crispy and drive off excess oil. Remove from oil and place on some paper towels to drip excess oil off.

In the same wok, add sugar and heat until melted completely.

Dip apple slices into melted sugar mixture, and coat on both sides.
