Ingredients:
  • 1 lb. Taro
  • 0.5 cup Water
  • 0.5 cup Green Onion, Finely Chopped
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Salt, A Pinch

Cut taro uniformly into long strips.

Deep fry taro at 250-320℉/120-150℃ until golden. Remove from oil and drain.

In a cooking pan, add water, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, constantly stirring, until the water almost evaporated.

Add fried taro and chopped green onion, and stir fry until a glaze layer wrapped taro strips.

In a cooking pan over low heat, melt the sugar, stirring constantly. Keep bubbling until a string formed when dripping the liquid from a spoon.

Remove from heat. Drip the liquid to make a nest on the edge of a bowl.

Serve the taro with the sugar nest on the side.
