Easy and authentic Three Cup Chicken (san bei ji) recipe that anyone can make at home. Tender chicken is braised with garlic and ginger in a sweet and savory sauce, plus top with basil with extra aroma.

Cut the chicken legs into 0.5 inch (1.2 cm) thick pieces. Marinate chicken cutlets with soy sauce, sugar, and sesame oil.

Add corn starch and cooking oil, and mix well. Refrigerate for 20 minutes.

Heat up 1 tsp oil in a pan, stir-fry ginger, garlic, and red pepper until aroma comes out. Take out and set aside.
